Creation Myth

In the beginning, half of the world was made of nothingness, and the remaining half of sea. The sea was bottomless, and its breadth was infinite. The goddess Arche, who gave birth to herself through the sea, wandered alone through this world where none else existed for countless eons. When her loneliness became too much to bear, she set in her heart to create living things.
By dividing her own self, she made a brother, Ignis. The two married, and through their union was brought forth a great mass of lava in the sea. This lava exploded toward the surface and gradually cooled, creating a mass of earth. This was the birth of the continent of Harran. The weight of the continent created this way twisted reality and gave rise to a space filled with darkness beyond the void. Arche called this place Mitanni, and made Ignis to store the dark refuse of the world there, such as โdeathโ and โdisorder,โ and to rule over them.
Gradually, a great number of living things came to be born and flourish on the continent of Harran. As time wore on, certain living things sought to dominate their ecosystem. Among these, the greatest was the human race known as the Klayan. They followed the flow of the continentโs central river, Qadesh, with families setting up villages all along its basins and forming a primitive civilization which worshiped Arche, the creation goddess. The Klayan still led an existence in which they continuously fell prey to larger and more vicious monsters which were overflowing on the continent, but they survived by overcoming their physical deficiencies with their raceโs characteristic tenacity and intelligence.
However, the Klayan were greedy and destructive by nature. Though it was for survival, they hunted all of the animals they could see, set the nearby forests to flame to create farmland, and relentlessly dug into the mountains to find minerals. Among minerals, they were most obsessed with crystals. For crystals not only shone with a brilliant light, but also contained a mysterious power to maintain living things in their pure and original state. The tribal leaders of the Klayan sought to delay age and death and became hellbent on acquiring the crystals. It became such that a mountain thought to contain crystal veins would be swiftly devastated by countless tribes wielding pickaxes.
In this way, the Klayan brought about the extinction of many species. The imbalances caused by their actions eventually led to a change in the continentโs climate, and the emergence of natural disasters. The society of the Klayan became hellish as the tribes drew ruin upon themselves and continuously suffered food shortages and failed harvests. Even these meager harvests were forcefully taken by those with power, and deaths from starvation increased as war and slaughter erupted between kinsmen fighting over dwindling supplies.
Ignis watched anxiously as Harran fell to devastation. He implored Arche to not neglect the world, but to have him take control and rule it directly. However, Arche did not answer and only looked on in silence at all of these misfortunes.
