Elam, the Great Sage

There was a great sage in the kingdom named Elam. He felt curiosity about the demon realm from a young age. He was a scholar who went all over the continent to investigate Nox and their surrounding ancient fortresses to determine if they could truly be connected with the demon realm. It was because of this somewhat bizarre effort that he earned the title of โGreat Sage,โ however his research stated that the demon realm was only one dimension that connected to Harranโs Scars among a great number of others. In addition, he reported that beyond the space of each dimension were continents like Harran, and, though their identities were unknown, sapient beings like the Klayan. The visions and voices previously witnessed were not ghosts, but rather the results of the intermittent twisting of dimensional pathways: the partial emergence of incidents from another world into this one. Elam stated to the kingdom that if certain conditions were met, even physical interactions between the worlds could be possible. This research was a shock to the worldview held by the Klayans, and it was from then that Elam came to be known as a Great Sage.
While the kingdom at large hesitated about what to do with this discovery, pioneering Klayans actively tried to contact the other worlds, and some even built up enough trust to begin actually trading goods. In this way, it was proven that trade with the new world was in fact possible. As certain people gained great profits from these exchanges, countless merchants, warriors, and scholars began to rush in to try to monopolize the points of connection with these worlds. They occupied the fortresses that had been abandoned above Nox or made fortresses at newly discovered Nox. In time, repeated conflicts for each other's fortresses erupted between competing groups.
Chaturanga summoned Elam, the Great Sage, to the kingdom. The continuous natural disasters had made him uneasy, and he wanted to see if they carried some symbolic meaning. Using ancient Klayan fortune telling, Elam spoke that the Klayans had long been destined for decline and destruction because of the curse of Ignis, but because of the sacrifice of the 27 ancient heroes and the support of Arche in sealing Ignis, they had lived the thousand years until this point in a state of grace. However, because of the tyranny of recent generations of kingdoms, the balance of Archeโs spirit was shaken and lost, and the wheel of apocalypse again started to turn. It was not only natural disasters, but because of the weakening of Archeโs spirit, the path to the demon realm was reopening, and if those from the demon realm were to pass into Harran and revive Ignis, who was still sealed in Abgrund, there would be no way to prevent apocalypse.
Chaturanga, distraught by these bleak pronouncements, ordered Elamโs execution on the spot. However, because Elam had a greater reputation than the king, the ministers dissuaded him, and Elam was locked away in prison while his sentence was delayed. The prison guards themselves, however, were already on Elamโs side, and on their advice, he escaped the prison and fled the kingdom.
