The Founding of the Klay Kingdoms

Thus achieving victory in Harmageddon through the sacrifice of the heroes, Arche made for a representative of the Klayan to appear at the temple to express her gratitude for their participation in the war. As those who could be proclaimed the leaders of their tribes were locked in Abgrund, a priest named Peripa Lykeion was selected from among the survivors as a representative and sent alone to the temple on a cliff at the edge of the land. Arche gave Peripa a mysterious Royal Seed and pronounced an oracle of the path that the Klayan people were to pursue. After completing this oracle, Arche went into the sea for a deep rest in order to recover from the wounds she suffered during the war.

Returning from the temple, Peripa showed the people the Royal Seed and delivered the oracle that was given to him. This oracle was, specifically, that the seed was a plant that would produce the fruit called KING tokens, and that if all Klayan would use it as a common currency, the tribes would be one. Further, if the Klayan could unite, they could develop a civilization without destroying nature. Respecting Archeโ€™s will, the Klayan tribes who had opposed each other agreed that the time had come to unite as one. It was finally declared by all Klayan tribes that a โ€œKlay Kingdomโ€ was established, and, with the crowning of Peripa as the first king, the Lykeion Dynasty began.

The early rulers of the Klay Kingdom, including Peripa, demonstrated excellent leadership in restoring and developing the devastated continent. They banned the razing of fields with fire and improved farming techniques, taking care of their kingdom so that none would go hungry again. By limiting hunting and mining, nature was able to restore to its original state. All trading in the kingdom was done with KING tokens instead of exchanging goods. From official fiscal policy matters to exchanges between individuals, all transactions were handled through the Royal Bank. The wise first kings used this system efficiently, and the kingdom was, for a time, peaceful.

One lingering concern was that when Ignis struck the continent during the War of the Gods and created Harranโ€™s Scars, the aftereffect was that cracks spread underneath the ground and holes were formed throughout the entire continent whose depth was such that their bottom could not be seen. These recessed holes were called โ€œNox.โ€ There were continuous reports of visions which were not of this world, and of voices from beyond, from those Klayan residing near the Nox.

The early kings were worried this was a sign of a new invasion from the demon world. They sent investigation groups to the Nox that formed within their territory, erected fortresses overlooking them, and stationed troops there. In this way, vigilance against invasion was maintained. As time passed, however, no further signs of the demons were found, and the fortresses which had been built and maintained with great fervor became a nuisance. The kingdomโ€™s command withdrew its soldiers from the fortresses entirely, deciding that these rumors were a result of the residual thoughts of demons who were killed in Harran during the War of the Gods, creating a phenomenon of light and sound as they were extinguished. Once the fortresses were emptied, Klayan, who saw them as a refuge from the threat of monsters, gradually turned them into residential areas.
